Feedback & Support
How to send in-app feedback, get help, manage your license, and receive updates in ForteMare Tempest.
ForteMare Tempest includes a built-in feedback form, a Help menu with diagnostic and licensing tools, and an automatic updater — everything you need to reach the team and stay on the latest build.
Sending Feedback
The Send Feedback dialog lets you report a bug, request a feature, ask a question, or share a general comment. Open it from Help → Send Feedback….

Feedback fields
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Type | The category of your message (see below). |
| Title | A brief one-line summary. Required — you can't submit without it. |
| Details | The full description. The box prompts you for what to include for a bug, a feature, or a question. |
| Attach recent trading log (last 50 events) | When checked, the most recent activity from Tempest's trading log is included with your message. This is on by default. |
Feedback types
The Type dropdown offers four choices:
- 🐛 Bug Report — something isn't working as expected
- ✨ Feature Request — suggest a new capability
- ❓ Question — ask the team for help
- 💬 General Feedback — comments or observations
Attaching images
You can attach up to three images to a single submission, using either button:
- 📷 Capture Window — takes a snapshot of the main Tempest window. The feedback dialog itself is not included in the shot.
- 🖼 Add Image… — browse your computer for existing PNG or JPG/JPEG files.
Each image you add appears as a thumbnail in a strip below the buttons. Click a thumbnail to remove that image before submitting. The counter next to the buttons shows how many images are attached. Tempest automatically resizes and recompresses large images so the submission stays a reasonable size; a very large image that can't be reduced enough is rejected with a message.
Note: Chart areas may appear blank in a Capture Window snapshot because of how they are drawn. If you want to include a chart, take a screenshot with Windows (for example, the Snipping Tool) and add it with Add Image….
Submitting
Click Submit Feedback. While the message is sending, the status line at the bottom shows Submitting…; before you submit it reads "Your feedback goes straight to the Forte Mare team."
When you submit, Tempest automatically appends a short System Info block — your Windows version, the product name, and the date and time — so the team has the basic context. If you have an email address on file, it is included as optional contact information; an email is not required.
After you submit
- On success, the status line shows ✓ Feedback sent. Thank you! and your message is filed as a tracked issue for the team to review and respond to. You do not need an account of your own to submit.
- If the submission created a viewable tracking page, the Submit Feedback button changes to Open Issue — click it to view the tracked issue in your browser. Otherwise the button changes to Done.
- If something goes wrong, the status line shows the error in red (for example a network error) so you can try again.
The Help Menu
The Help menu (in the top menu bar) gathers feedback, diagnostics, updates, and licensing.
📷 Screenshot: The open Help menu showing Inject Sample Signals, Open Logs Folder, Test Alert Sound, Send Feedback…, Check for Updates…, Activate License…, Open Source Licenses…, Keyboard Shortcuts, and About.
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Inject Sample Signals (UI test, no broker)… | Loads a handful of synthetic signals into the Signals view so you can preview the interface. No orders are placed and no broker is contacted. See The Signals View. |
| Open Logs Folder | Opens Tempest's diagnostics folder in File Explorer. Useful when the team asks you to send logs. |
| Test Alert Sound | Plays the audible alert and task-bar flash used by the trade-approval popup, so you can confirm your sound is working. |
| Send Feedback… | Opens the feedback form described above. |
| Check for Updates… | Checks immediately for a newer version of Tempest (see Updates below). |
| Activate License… | Enter, view, or move your license. Only appears when Tempest is configured for licensing. See Licensing & Tiers. |
| Open Source Licenses… | Shows the required notices for the open-source components included in Tempest. |
| Keyboard Shortcuts | Opens a quick reference of keyboard shortcuts. Also available by pressing F1. |
| About | Shows the version and a risk disclosure for the product. |
Note: A few additional testing tools — Test Orders…, Test Assisted Trading (Paper Account)…, and Quick Bracket Test… — are hidden by default. They submit live orders or signals to the engine and are intended only for administrators testing the system. If they appear, use them against a paper/simulated account only.
Keyboard Shortcuts
The Keyboard Shortcuts dialog (also F1) lists the most useful shortcuts, including:
- Space — approve a trade in the trade-approval popup (when armed); Esc — decline it
- Ctrl+Shift+C — open Price Action Commentary (see AI Price Action Commentary)
- Ctrl+Shift+P — open the Performance Dashboard
- Ctrl+1 … Ctrl+9 — jump to a chart tab
- Alt+F4 — exit
Updates
Tempest keeps itself up to date automatically and also lets you check on demand.
- Automatic checks. Tempest checks for a newer version in the background on a regular interval (every 24 hours by default).
- Manual check. Choose Help → Check for Updates… to check right away. If a newer build exists, Tempest shows a standard Windows update dialog with the release notes and an option to install; if you are already current, it confirms you are up to date.
- Installing. When you choose to install, the new version is downloaded over a secure (HTTPS) connection and cryptographically verified before it is applied. Tempest then updates itself and restarts on the new build.
Note: If updates have not been configured for your installation, Check for Updates… displays a short message and does nothing else.
License & Notices
Most license tasks live under the Help menu. For the full picture of what each tier includes, see Licensing & Tiers.
- Activate License… opens a dialog where you can paste your license key and Activate it, Deactivate it (to move it to another machine), start a trial, and view your current activation status. This item appears only when Tempest is set up for licensing.
- Open Source Licenses… displays the notices for the third-party open-source components Tempest ships with. These notices are required by the licenses those components are distributed under.
Diagnostic Logs
When you contact support, the team may ask for diagnostic logs. Choose Help → Open Logs Folder to open Tempest's diagnostics folder in File Explorer.
This folder contains license and startup diagnostics and any crash logs from unexpected shutdowns. You can attach these files to your feedback or support message so the team can investigate licensing, connection, or stability issues. For connection-specific problems, also see Troubleshooting.
Getting Help — Quick Workflow
- Gather diagnostics — Help → Open Logs Folder.
- Describe the problem — Help → Send Feedback…, pick a Type, fill in a Title and Details, keep Attach recent trading log checked, and add a screenshot if it helps.
- Stay current — Help → Check for Updates… to make sure you are on the latest build before reporting an issue.
